Sandy Point Beach
| Sandy Point Beach is known for its lighthouse, which keeps ships off the sharp reefs that surround Sandy Point. In the early, hungry days of Skyberry, many a ship would break upon the rocks, much to the delight of the early inhabitants of the valley who scavenged the merchandise that would wash ashore with frequency.
After the lighthouse was built, the sandy stretch of beach started attracting out-of-towners in the summer.
To attend the wave of weekenders, an old merchant house was converted into the Mermaid Tavern by another stranger, Patch. The beach is also home to Norm's bait shop and the charming studio of local artist Gabriel.
